Centurion:
In the Roman infantry, centurions initially commanded a century. A century could consist of 80 up to 100 men. Later, generals and Caesars further manipulated these numbers with double and half-strength unit Centurions seemed to receive a much higher rate of pay than the average legionary, twice as much or more. Centurions would have been brilliant officers and fighters on the field to get the position they were in. Depending on the Centurion they would share a tent with their troops this would boost the morale in the army if they did some Centurions would not share a tent with their troops and have a tent erected for himself because he thought he was better than the rest of them.

Auxiliaries
Auxiliaries formed the standing non-citizen corps of the Imperial Roman army during the Principate era. Auxiliary troops were mainly recruited from the peregrine Auxiliary regiments were often stationed in provinces other than the province in which they were originally raised, both for reasons of imperial security and to foster the process of Romanisation and integration of the provinces. Praetorian Guard
The Praetorian Guard was a force of bodyguards used by Roman Emperors. The title was already used during the Roman Republic for the guards of Roman generals, at least since the rise to prominence of the Scipio family around 275 BC. The Guard was dissolved by Emperor Constantine I in the 4th century. They should not be confused with the imperial Germanic bodyguard that provided close personal protection for the late Roman emperors. The Praetorian guards were mostly the killers of Emperors when they did a bad job.

Optio
An optio sometimes anglicized was a soldier in the Roman army who held a position similar to that of an executive officer in modern armies. The optio seems to have held a rank roughly equivalent to that of a modern lieutenant, reflective of his status as the second in command of the century in which he served. The main function of an optio was as an optio centuriae, the second-in-command of acentury, although there were many other positions an optio could hold.

Urban Guards
Their primary role was to police Rome and to counteract the roaming mobs and gangs that so often haunted its streets during the Republic. The urban cohorts thus acted as a heavy duty police force, capable of riot control duties, while their contemporaries, the Vigiles, had the day-to-day role of policing the streets and protecting against firesAs a trained paramilitary organization, the urban cohorts could, on rare occasions, take to the field of battle if necessary. This role, however, was only called upon in dire situations. Augustus established a city police force at Rome consisting of three cohorts under a newly appointed prefect of the city.
